One of three cushions that I bought from Canis Minor Miniatures with motifs from William Morris designs. It wouldn’t be a late Victorian house without at least a nod to The Strawberry Thief. The Quartermaines are sympathetic to the Arts and Crafts movement and, although they have maintained the grandeur of their main reception rooms, their private rooms are full of Morris fabric and studio pottery. These cushions are found either in the Master Bedroom or Parlour, where they soften the dark heavy wood of the furniture.
