Neil Carter is surely the leading miniature bronze-caster working at the moment. Much of his work is Art Deco in flavour but he has a few very desirable Renaissance pieces and this David obviously captivated me from the moment I saw it. Now I’m just biding my time until I can add more of Neil’s work to the Quartermaine Hall collection.

I would just point out that it’s desperately difficult to photograph bronze, so unfortunately these pictures don’t do justice to the patina of the piece. Plus, those small white marks visible in some of the photos are nothing to do with the sculpture. It turns out that cotton wool, while great for protecting miniatures, is virtually impossible to get off when it comes to taking photos.
