Provenance: Bought from the artist’s Etsy shop in 2021

A huswif is a sewing set rolled up in a fabric holder. This example, finished in beautiful floral fabric, is elegant enough for the lady of the house to use in the Parlour. It is filled with gilded sewing accessories: needles, a shuttle, a bodkin and other goodies which I am too unhandy to identify. We also have a plain huswif, also made by Jennifer Pauls, which is humble enough for the maids to use in the Sewing Room.
