In a busy kitchen it helps to have plentiful hot water on hand and, in the Victorian period, it was wise to have a small boiler available so that tea and coffee could quickly be made, and washing-up water drawn off. This boiler would stand on a worktop in the corner of the kitchen. In the neighbouring laundry-room, where even more hot water was needed, we have a triple copper boiler, very similar to this, also made by Jeff Mewies.
