I bought this almost immediately after discovering the wonderful work of Lynn Jowers of Miniatures Perfectly Small. Her attention to detail captivated me: look at the warm patina of the old wood, and the lighter parts where hundreds of balls have hit the wickets. The handle of the bat has been wrapped in waxed cotton thread and then covered with a rubber sleeve, while the ball may look like old leather but is actually formed from polymer clay. A wonderful set that has clearly been loved and used over many years. Felix is probably growing out of it but can’t quite bear to relinquish it to Georgie yet.
