The maids have come to dread going into Felix’s room. There are always dead butterflies lying around or, even worse, live ones that have escaped. This jar, beautifully made by Laura Brownhill of Country Treasures, shows Felix’s latest finds waiting to be ‘processed’. The detail is wonderful. Along with the butterflies perched on a twig inside the jar, there are tiny bits of dirt and fragments of leaf, not to mention the twine handle and the waxed paper lid carefully pierced with holes.
