Provenance: Purchased directly from the artist’s Etsy shop in March 2022.

I’d had my eye on Loredana Tonetti’s exquisite birds’ egg collections for some time, as I knew that they’d be absolutely perfect for Felix’s bedroom. When this framed set of British birds’ eggs came back into stock, I leapt on them instantly. The tiny eggs are perfectly formed, presumably using polymer clay, and painted in naturalistic shades of blues, greens, creams and whites, set off with patterns of speckles. They are gorgeous and, in contrast to the more professional-looking natural history cabinets I’ve seen around, you can well believe that Felix has put together this collection (and display) himself.
