Provenance: Purchased via eBay in March 2022.

This elegant turned wooden coat stand was sold as an anonymous piece, but I was taken with its shape and its high level of finish. When it arrived, I was delighted to find it packed in a David Krupick box, an attribution confirmed by the ‘DK’ faintly inscribed on one of the feet. David is a highly versatile miniaturist whose pieces range from children’s toys to knife-boxes, and I’m delighted to have one of his works in the Quartermaine Collection – even if it was accidental!
