This pretty cotton nightgown, with lace ruffles at the neck and cuffs, and lilac ribbons, is by an unknown artist. I don’t even know where to begin trying to identify it, although I’ve seen some similar gowns by mini couturier Janet Middlebrook. For the time being, it doesn’t matter who made it. It’s charming enough that I enjoy it just as it is. It’ll look lovely in a wardrobe, or perhaps hanging on the back of a door. I haven’t quite decided whether it’s Elizabeth’s or Isabella’s, but for now let’s put it in the Master Bedroom.
