The titles on the spine are hard to read but according to the shop listing, the books include the following: Annotations by Julius Caesar (1753); Historical register of remarkable events by John Sykes (1833); The First Book of Architecture by Andrea Palladio (1724); Historical Agriculture, volumes 1 and 2, by Eneas Mackenzie (1811); The fables of Aesop by Thomas Bewick (1823); The old curiosity shop by Charles Dickens ( 1871); and An essay concerning human understanding, volume 1, by John Locke (1824).
