On cold winter nights, I can just imagine Nanny placidly knitting as she sits by the dying fire in the Night Nursery, watching her charges sleep, and keeping her feet warm on top of this stoneware vessel. A discontinued work by Stokesay Ware, it was a lucky find – and a lucky bidding win! – on eBay. It’s our first, but surely not our last, piece by this leading miniature ceramicist.
