Pierre is one of two dolls’ dolls whom I bought at the stand of Victoria Heredia Guerbós at Kensington Dolls House Festival in May 2022. Like his ‘older sister’ Aliette, Pierre sports a sailor suit, the garment of choice for children in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, and I couldn’t resist him. With his chubby face and tousled blonde hair, he was quite the charmer.

Victoria explained to me about the care and attention to detail that goes into her works. These dolls, tiny as they are, have articulated arms and legs. They also have miniscule glass eyes. They’re real little treasures, and each comes in its own tissue-lined box (although the measurements given above are for Pierre himself).
