A good display of copperware in a kitchen has to include a set of plates. Paul Brownhill’s beautiful copper for Country Treasures is rather sought after, but I was lucky enough to snaffle these plates from his granddaughter Laura at her stand at Kensington in May 2022. It’s worth hurrying to beat the rush when the fair opens! These will look wonderful on a dresser or shelf alongside the other pots, pans and platters that we have in the collection. They don’t bear the usual CT Country Treasures mark but, due to where we bought them, there’s no doubt about their attribution.

In this last picture, the plates are displayed alongside Basil Smetham’s copper kettle on a bookcase by Erzsébet Bodzas of Hungarian Miniatures
