A lady sits on a grassy bank, accompanied by a standing gentleman. Both wear shades of pink and rose, with corsages pinned to their clothes, echoing the pinks of the roses in the spray of greenery behind them. They seem to be offering some of these roses to the sheep that has wandered up to them. A classic Staffordshire style, this figurine is by Kay Lewis. There are tantalising traces on the base label of what might once have been a signature, but unfortunately these are now illegible. A charming little piece, with lovely hand-painted details of swags on the lady’s skirt.
