This volume forms a companion to the Noble Families of Verona, a miniature volume by Ken that I’d already purchased. I like the idea of Charles Quartermaine poring over the coats of arms of ancient Italian families, some of whom probably once owned the sculptures and paintings he has collected in his gallery.
