These nine volumes, bound in classic light blue paper, were sold as seconds during one of Alison Davies’s sales. We snaffled them, and will probably have them on a shelf in the Governess’s Room; she is, after all, Francophone, and they will offer a taste of European cosmopolitanism in the heart of London.
