I couldn’t resist this. Although the Quartermaines aren’t the most extreme aesthetes, they do appreciate the finer things, and how could Elizabeth turn down a peacock feather fan? A perfect prop to be casually lying on a chair or sideboard, perhaps in the Drawing Room, forgotten there after dinner.
