Provenance: Bought from the artist’s stand at Kensington Dolls’ House Festival in December 2023

Quartermaine Hall will obviously have a distinguished wine cellar, and this was a fun way to begin the family’s collection. The Art of Mini had a wealth of different bottles on their stand at Kensington in December 2023, and we ended up choosing a variety of different wines – based either on what felt appropriate for the period, or what we’d like to have in our own cellar! The six bottles we chose include: Moet & Chandon; Châteauneuf-du-Pape; Chablis Grand Cru; a Saint-Emilion (which has been opened and so has a little cork in the top); Château Petrus; and a chardonnay from Burgundy.

I think the wine cellar might have to be placed at the back of the Butler’s Pantry, so that Mr Willoughby can keep an eye on the supplies…
