Provenance: Purchased via eBay in January 2025

We bought this wonderful little ornament along with another, showing a pointer, with the idea of displaying them together on the mantelpiece in the Smoking Room. The detail and colouring is rather lovely for something so small, but unfortunately I don’t know who the maker is. I’ve asked the seller on eBay whether perhaps she created them herself, but am still waiting for an answer, and will update as and when I can.

Below: old enemies, the fox and the pointer will be displayed together. The pointer, as ever, is on the scent. The fox looks blissfully unconcerned.
