This gorgeous little sterling silver sauceboat, with its stylish Rococo swirls, is based on a piece made around 1760-1770 by the American silversmith Paul Revere. It is so small and intricate that it’s virtually impossible to photograph properly, so you’ll have to take my word for it that every detail is exquisite, from the curls on the handle to the delicate ‘fans’ where the feet meet the body. A perfect addition either to the dinner table or the sideboard, and a piece I was very pleased to buy, because it’s similar to a full-size (silver-plated) sauceboat that we have in our kitchen cupboard.
