On the fourth floor of Quartermaine Hall, we find the attics and the staff bedrooms. This is where the housekeeper, butler and domestics go at the end of a long day to enjoy a few precious hours of rest – and it’s also home to a treasure trove of lumber rooms, where the family’s old furniture and trunks are stored away, alongside anything else no longer required downstairs.
