After formal meals, the ladies retire upstairs to this room, which is devoted to blue and white. The family’s prized collection of Chinese porcelain is on display here.
The Quartermaine family are big readers and their library is full of volumes on various subjects, alongside art, engravings and maps.
Next door to the Library is the Museum, a glorious treasure-trove of antiquities, objets d’art, curiosities and natural history.
