On her stand at Kensington Dolls House Festival in May 2022, Victoria Heredia Guerbós had a splendid collection of her characteristic miniature dolls’ dolls. Featuring in several different sizes, they also encompassed a delightful range of costumes, from the classic late Victorian sailor suit to costumes from the Pacific, Asia and Africa. I knew exactly what I was after, though: a sailor-suit doll to add to our Nursery. Naturally, I ended up buying two: Aliette, seen here, and her little brother Pierre.

Victoria explained to me about the care and attention to detail that goes into her works. These dolls, tiny as they are, have articulated arms and legs. They also have miniscule glass eyes. They’re real little treasures, and each comes in its own tissue-lined box (though the dimensions given above are for Aliette herself).
